The Metropolitan St. Louis Chapter received the Gold Level
Award for Chapter Excellence in the Mega Chapter category, the
highest level award presented annually at the national awards
ceremonies. St. Louis's chapter received this outstanding
achievement for the 5th consecutive year, for years 2005, 2006,
2007, 2008 and 2009.
To qualify, chapters across the country must follow a
nationally mandated business plan and receive points for each
category in which they submit the required documentation for
yearly progress in such areas as general membership meetings,
membership recruitment and retention, governing board meetings,
travel by officers to state and national meetings, cooperation
with the local real estate board, and educational opportunities
provided.
Jean Ewell, 2009 local
chapter president, accepted the award on behalf of the St. Louis
Chapter. The engraved glass plaque will join the Women's
Council archives at the St. Louis Association headquarters.
